Inspired by the desire to create an ambient light source with a sculptural quality, Danish husband-and-wife designers Viola Heyn-Johnsen and Jonas Trampedach have created the Parade Lamp series. Consisting of a square base and arched top in coloured glass, the geometric shape causes the expression to change depending on whichever angle the lamp is turned. The carefully selected sizes and colours complement each other in height, tone and temperature, creating a cohesive effect that forms an interlinking pattern when multiple lamps are viewed together. Equally appealing as a collection of illuminating sculptures, a single light source on a bedside cabinet or displayed with other ornaments without the light switched on, Parade combines functionality with aesthetics to create a versatile and unique lamp. The custom, integrated LED light source, which can be replaced if required, has an inline step-dimmer that allows the light output to be adjusted to different settings.

Featuring a convenient flat-packed design comprising a slim stem and round base, the uncluttered aesthetics of the Common Floor Lamp make it easy to integrate into a wide range of private and public spaces. The stem is made of steel, with the base crafted in steel or terrazzo, with both materials available in different colour options. Jørgen Kastholm (1931-2007) and Preben Juhl Fabricius (1931-1984) were driven by a mutual mission to make form a pure derivative of function. Both were architects, graduating from the Danish School of Interior Design where they studied under Finn Juhl and subsequently with Arne Jacobsen. The P376 pendant lamp is a perfect example of Kastholm & Fabricius’ subtle architectural slant on design. Originally conceived in 1963, five concentric shades create gradations of curves towards the middle of the lamp to emit a soft, diffused light. The discrete placement of the shades and the silky aluminium finish culminate in a cohesive expression that’s both iconic and enthralling.
